Background Information:
At the 9/12/23 meeting a study session was held and direction was given to staff to maintain the current rotation of districts and to elect the Chair and Vice Chair at the second meeting in January 2024.
The Clerk of the Board sent out an email to Board members on 12/18/23 stating that due to the holidays the second meeting was 1/23/24 and this would cause issues and delays with other Boards the members sit on.
While preparing the agenda for 1/9/24 it was discovered that the Public Facilities Financing Corporation bylaws state in section 3.05 the Board “shall” hold an annual meeting in the first meeting of January of each year and further states in section 4.02 that the President and Vice President “shall” be the current Chair and Vice Chair.
Therefore, this item is being brought forward at the first meeting in January to mitigate the issues with the Facilities Financing Corporation.
