a)                     Request authorization to accept the restricted donation from P.E.T.S. in the amount of $78,151.64 from the McCorkle Estate funds to be used only for spay and neuter

b)                     Request authorization to accept the unrestricted donation from P.E.T.S in the amount of $51,341.56 to be used as determined by the County

body

Financial Impact:

These funds are to benefit the Tehama County Animal Services Center

Background Information:

Originally formed in 2011, P.E.T.S. announced that they ceased operations as of December 31, 2023 having long met their mission to assist the Tehama County Animal Services Center grow from a small under-supported department to the full-service animal services center that exists today.  As they liquidate their assets, P.E.T.S. is donating their remaining funds to the Tehama County Animal Services Center.

The funds from McCorkle Estate were donated to P.E.T.S. to be used strictly for spay and neuter so these funds will have the same restricted use when assumed by the County.  The unrestricted funds are left over from donations and fundraisers over the years and these may be used as determined by the County.
