Financial Impact:
Costs are paid for with Public Health Realignment and/or specific program funding and Environmental Health fees. Tehama County Health Services Agency (TCHSA) and Environmental Health will split the salary and benefit costs. Annual salaries are as follows: $105,000.00 for the period 3/1/24 - 2/28/25, $107,100.00 for the period 3/1/25 - 2/28/26, $109,242.00 for the period 3/1/26 - 2/28/27, and $111,426.00 for the period 3/1/27 - 2/29/28.
Background Information:
This is a new agreement with Dr. Peters to perform the functions and duties of a part-time (0.5 FTE) Health Officer for Tehama County. The Departments have met with Dr. Peters, and all parties have agreed to the salary and benefits and all terms and conditions contained in the agreement.
In the event the County and the Joint Council of International Union of Operating Engineers, Stationary Engineers, Local 39 bargaining unit, agree to a percentage increase in salary for all classifications represented by the bargaining unit, then Dr. Peters’ salary will be increased by an equal percentage.
If this agreement is not approved, the County would lose the opportunity to appoint a highly qualified individual in a very difficult to fill position. This is a contract, overtime exempt position.
