Requested Action(s)

recommendation

a)                     Request to declare the used office furniture as listed in the attachment to be surplus County property

b)                     Request to adopt a finding that the office furniture is not required for County use and that the transfer of these items to the Poor and the Homeless Tehama County Coalition (P.A.T.H.), a 503(c)(3) non-profit, to be used to support people experiencing homelessness, thereby serving a public purpose for the County of Tehama, pursuant to Government Code section 25372, subdivision (b)(5)

body

Financial Impact:

The furniture being considered for donation is of no value and has been previously offered for use by County departments. This furniture will likely incur cost for disposal if not donated.

Background Information:

Poor and the Homeless Tehama County Coalition (PATH) recently inquired of the County about surplus furniture needed for the soon-to-open Navigation Center. The County has an acquired collection of old and unused furniture that departments have replaced and is available to other departments as needed. Due to the age and condition, the majority this of surplus furniture no longer has value, and will incur cost for disposal when the storage space is needed.
