Background Information:
To maintain open hours at all three Library locations with six full-time and two part-time staff, there are brief opportunities to bring the entire team together. County Librarian is requesting that locations in Red Bluff and Corning be closed on Monday, April 22, 2024, to hold a mandatory in-service day for all staff. Three-fourths of our staff are either new employees or in a new role within the past year, so this would provide an opportunity for training, and to examine and update processes to improve efficiency and patron service. The Los Molinos branch would not be impacted as it is not open on Mondays.
If this request is approved, Library staff will advertise this closure in advance on our website and within the Libraries to minimize inconvenience for patrons.
