Background Information:
The Personnel Office is requesting to revise the classification specification of Personnel Technician. As part of the Department’s maintenance and review process, positions are periodically reviewed to verify they reflect an accurate representation of the job duties being performed. As a result, the Examples of Duties section has been revised to remove outdated duties that are no longer being performed and add duties this position is currently performing. In addition, the Education and Experience section was revised to remove the requirement of an Associate’s Degree and replace the degree with related experience. The Personnel Director strongly believes incumbents can be successful in this classification by having adequate training and/or experience in clerical or administrative support duties. The Working Conditions section has also been updated to be consistent with other County classifications. There is no request to change the salary for this classification.
The Tehama County Management Employees Association (TCMEA) has been notified of the requested revisions, and an agreement has been reached.
