Financial Impact:
This grant requires a 50/50 match. The Grant, if awarded, will provide funding of a maximum of $20,000. The purchase will be requested in the FY 2024-25 budget, account 2042-53110.
Background Information:
Previously known as the Rural Fire Capacity Grant, the Fire Department has been receiving this grant for 20+ years. If successful, the proposal will help fund the purchase of fire protection gear for the Tehama County Volunteers including structure jackets and pants, wildland shrouds, and headlamps.
The due date for filing is May 24, 2024. We have applied for the grant through the new Grant Portal, however if the Board declines the request to continue with the application process, we will rescind the application.
