Financial Impact:
The funds for the requested action are a result of the UC Davis More Pets and People Together Grant.
Background Information:
On December 18, 2023, the Division of Animal Services was awarded the More Pets and People Together Grant by UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in the amount of $150,000; $145,000 to fund an Animal Services Coordinator position through 2025 and $5,000 for microchip scanners.
During this Fiscal Year 2023/24, the Division was able to use the grant funds to purchase fourteen (14) microchip scanners as well as recruit for and fill a newly approved Animal Services Coordinator - Limited Term position.
