Background Information:
§7101: Performance Evaluations
This new personnel rule outlines guidelines for completion of performance evaluations for Tehama County employees. Performance evaluations are intended to be fair assessments of an employee’s performance over a defined period through face-to-face discussions between employees and their supervisors. The purpose of providing a performance evaluation is to provide employees with feedback relative to their work performance, clarifying job duties, expected standards of employment, and setting goals for the upcoming year. This rule also includes supervisor guidance for drafting performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback relative to timeliness, goals, and work performance.
This personnel rule was drafted as a guide for both employees, as well as the supervisors, managers, and department heads. The draft was created by the Personnel Department, then routed through the Personnel Review Committee, the Department Heads, and the bargaining units, if applicable. The process then continues to presentation and/or approval by the full Board, which is the final step in approving this Personnel Rule.
