recommendation

a)                     AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Executive Director to sign the Amendment #1 with Victor Community Support Services, Inc. (Misc. Agree #2023-206)  for the purpose of Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health Services for eligible children and transitional aged youth (TAY), thereby amending the rates set forth in Exhibit B, with the maximum compensation not to exceed $2,000,0000 through 6/30/24

body

Financial Impact:

Costs will be paid for with Mental Health Services Act funds, Mental Health realignment funds, and Medi-Cal. Total maximum compensation amount is being increased by $623,376.

Background Information:

Victor Community Support Services provides mental health services to eligible children and transitional aged youth (ages 16-25) in Tehama County that meet medical necessity as defined by Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health, as well as case-by-case uninsured or non-Medi-Cal eligible children and youth. This increase will accommodate the necessary salary changes to recruit and retain staff in Tehama County as well as the increased operational cost. This amendment will also update the rates added in Exhibit B and update the department’s Provider Handbook in Exhibit D.

This agreement is necessary for meeting Network Adequacy Standards established by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). If the agreement is not approved, the Agency would need to look for another vendor to provide specialty mental health services for youth as outlined in the County's contract with the Department of Health Care Services.
