Financial Impact:

This project will be paid for with a combination of existing budgeted maintenance funds and a transfer of AB443 funds, which are eligible for law enforcement purposes. Total project costs came in lower than the costs estimated in the approved bid packet.

Background Information:

This project is for landscaping improvements to the front area of the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, in order to make the office more inviting to the public and improve employee morale. Improvements include paving, hardscape, a covered gazebo, lighting, and upgrades to the flag pole. This project has utilized AB109 labor in order to reduce costs.

The Board authorized this project on May 7, 2024, and no bids were received. Public Contract Code allows the County to then negotiate with a contractor, and staff has been working with an acceptable contractor to move the project ahead.
