body

Financial Impact:

The Department of Agriculture received an unanticipated increase of $51,212 over the projected revenue for Pesticide Mill Assessment activities in account #450530-State Agriculture. The transfer requested will facilitate the purchase of the vehicle.

Background Information:

On 5/14/24 the Board approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Department to solicit bids for one new 1/2-ton 4x2 regular cab, short bed pickup truck. The Purchasing Department received two bids with the lowest bid being from out of county. Corning Ford exercised their right to rebid under the County’s local vendor preference ordinance per Tehama County code Section 4.24.085 and submitted a new bid at a price lower than the out of county bid.

The new 1/2-ton 4x2 regular cab standard pickup truck will replace a 16-year-old vehicle in the department's fleet.  Replacement of this vehicle is warranted as the department requires safe and reliable transportation to enable employees to perform their duties.
