The funds for the requested action are a result of the Best Friends Animal Society grant.
Background Information:
On January 25, 2023, the Division of Animal Services entered into a Peer Mentor agreement with Best Friends Animal Society (BFAS). Because of its leadership in the field, the Division was asked to serve as a mentor to Colusa County Animal Shelter.
On April 15, 2024, BFAS requested the Division conduct a low cost vaccine and microchipping clinic in Colusa County on June 13, 2024. BFAS awarded the Division funds in the amount of $6,500 to conduct the clinic.
The Division has purchased all the necessary vaccines and equipment for the upcoming clinic and is anticipating 150 dogs and 50 cats being seen for clinic and microchipping services.
