Financial Impact:

This grant is funded 100% through the State of California Department of Insurance.

Background Information:

The Tehama County District Attorney’s Office previously participated in the California Department of Insurance Auto Insurance Fraud grant program from Fiscal Year 2008/2009 through 2012/2013 and again Fiscal Year 2016/2017 through 20/23/2024. The department is again applying for this grant program that will allow staff to continue to investigate auto insurance fraud cases independently from the State and, when needed, jointly with the Department of Insurance Fraud Bureau. The department will also work jointly with several other state agencies.

As part of the grant requirement, the State requires that our office receive a signed resolution from the Tehama County Board of Supervisors authorizing Tehama County District Attorney Matthew D. Rogers to apply for and execute the agreement including any extensions, amendments, and administer the State of California Department of Insurance Auto Insurance Fraud grant.
