a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Executive Director to sign the Agreement with Premier Independence, Inc. for the purpose of locating and arranging for Telepsychiatry Psychiatrists, Telepsychiatry Nurse Practitioners, and/or Telepsychiatry Physician's Assistants to provide locum tenens medical services for the rates as set forth in Exhibit” A” with compensation not to exceed $750,000 in any one fiscal year, and a maximum compensation not to exceed $2,250,000 effective 7/1/24 and shall terminate 6/30/27

Financial Impact:
Services will be paid for with Mental Health realignment and/or Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funds allocated for medically necessary services.
Background Information:
This is a renewal agreement with the vendor for the purpose of locating and arranging for Telepsychiatry Psychiatrists, Telepsychiatry Nurse Practitioners, and/or Telepsychiatry Physician's Assistants to provide medical services for the department during periods of staffing shortages or vacation coverage. In the past, the department has utilized the placement services of locum tenens companies due to the shortage of these specialty professionals employed by the County. The Department is currently using telepsychiatry services to provide greater continuity for medication support with behavioral health clients. This is a vital behavioral health service for meeting the needs of Tehama County residents.
