Financial Impact:

Services will be paid for with Mental Health realignment and/or Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funds allocated for medically necessary services. The compensation amount is increasing by $50,000, not to exceed a maximum amount of $650,000.

Background Information:

This is Amendment #2 to the agreement with Psynergy Programs, Inc. approved at the Board of Supervisors meeting of June 14, 2022 (Misc. Agree. #2022-179) to provide long-term care for adults with serious mental illness. This amendment #2 is for the purpose of increasing the maximum compensation amount by $50,000 and to incorporate the CalAIM rates as Exhibit E. The services provided by the vendor have increased this previous fiscal year, and placement is difficult for clients who need specialized residential care services. If this amendment is not approved, clients who could be serviced by this facility would not be able to be placed there. There are very limited options for client care in facilities with the services this vendor offers. The Health Services Agency would need to continue the search for adequate facilities for clients with specialty needs which would continue disruption in much needed services and delays for mental health clients of Tehama County.
