Financial Impact:
Appropriate funding is in the agency’s budget to cover this expenditure. The bi-weekly salary for the position at Range 25, Step A is $1,846.40 ($23.08 hourly). The increased cost from A to D is approximately $7,571 in annual salary. The Department has sufficient funds budgeted for this position. There is no impact to the General Fund.
Background Information:
Our candidate is highly qualified and has 6 years of full time experience as an Eligibility Specialist with the Department from 2010-2016; 2 of those years were as an Eligibility Specialist III. The candidate was also employed by the Department as an Eligibility Specialist II- Extra Help from September 2017- May 2023, and August 2023-present. This person exceeds the minimum qualifications, has current and relevant eligibility experience, and also has a Bachelor’s Degree.
If this action is not approved, the Department will lose an opportunity to hire a highly qualified applicant.
The Personnel Office has reviewed the candidate’s qualifications and is in agreement with placement at Salary Range 25, Step D upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements.
