a) AGREEMENT- Request approval and authorization for the Executive Director to sign Amendment #2 to the agreement with Helios Healthcare, LLC dba Idylwood Care Center (Misc. Agree #2022-239, as amended by Misc. Agree #2023-49) for the purpose of providing community mental health services for adults and older adults who have serious mental illness pursuant to the provisions of the Bronzan-McCorquodale Act contained in the California Welfare and Institutions Code, thereby replacing Exhibit B to reflect the facility's updated rates which are effective on 7/1/24
body
Financial Impact:
The amendment does not increase the maximum compensation allowable under the agreement. Budget unit 40131 for Mental Health. Costs of services will be paid for with Mental Health realignment funds and/or Mental Health Services Act dollars allocated for medically necessary services. This does not impact the general fund.
Background Information:
On August 2, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved the renewal agreement with Helios Healthcare, LLC for a three-year contract term. The vendor has presented a new rates schedule based on increased costs for providing these services for the fiscal year 2024-2025. Placement is difficult for clients who need long term residential mental health services. The approval of this amendment will allow for the continued use of appropriate level facilities by Tehama County Mental Health clients. There continues to be a need for multiple long-term clients placed in Helios Healthcare facilities. If this amendment is not approved, clients who could be served at this facility would not be able to be placed there and the Department would need to find another comparable facility to place clients. This could result in clients being placed at further distances and cause a disruption and delays for much needed services.
