Financial Impact:
The department will utilize AB443 funds for this vehicle repair, and as such, there will be no financial impact on the General Fund. Reimbursement through Trindel is being pursued.
Background Information:
One of the 2020 Ford Explorer Patrol vehicles lost all the engine oil shortly after a routine oil change. After an inspection was completed to determine the cause of the oil leak, it was discovered that the oil filter that was installed was faulty. The transfer will be used to replace the motor in the patrol vehicle.
To prevent any additional engine damage to any other vehicles, the Sheriff’s Auto Shop has removed all of that particular brand of filter and requested all vehicles to stop by the shop to have the oil filter exchanged.
