Financial Impact:
The funding was budgeted for the FY 2024/25 in the Sheriff’s Professional Services account 2027-53230. The Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking internal detective-investigators to help alleviate the increased costs associated with these background investigations.
Background Information:
Employers Investigative Services (EIS) has conducted pre-employment background investigations for prospective employees for the last few years. Currently, the Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking to fill two vacant extra hire positions to perform the same duties as EIS at almost half the cost. This will help reduce expenses to the County in the future, as costs continue to increase.
