body
Financial Impact:
There is sufficient funding provided by the grant for the requested change orders. There is no impact on the County General Fund.
Background Information:
The Corning Veterans Hall Remodel Project began in May and has been progressing well.
Due to the age of the building certain issues were expected. Nothing in these change orders is out of the ordinary for a project of this type and the building’s age.
Change Order #1 includes items:
- Additional abatement/Demolition work for boiler removal due to additional asbestos material
- Remove/Replace lower roof while open for framing modifications
- Furred wall addition due to framing conditions found after demolition
- Time and Materials work for framing changed found after demolition. Subfloor/joist and repair brick with mortar, install ledger, hardware & joist
- Deduction for Room 119, floor refinishing not necessary
- Sofit framing for changes found after demolition
- Additional steel for window frames after brick exposure
The items were added due to a discovered need and are all eligible for grant reimbursement. The net change of these items is an increase in overall cost. Nothing is outside the range or ordinary change orders or outside the projects budget’s contingency.
The funding for this project is provided through the two Federal Community Project Funding Grant program, administered by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Board designated ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds.
