Background Information:

 

                     The Agency hosted the Little Explorers Homeschool for a MRF and landfill tour on April 15th. Approximately 30 homeschool kids and parents attended the Landfill tour and the recycling presentation. GreenWaste provided a demonstration of a collection truck unloading recyclable materials.

 

                     The Agency joined CalRecycle in their jurisdiction site visits in Corning, Tehama, Red Bluff, and County of Tehama from April 21st through April 23rd. Agency staff and CalRecycle representatives met with members of each jurisdiction and conducted on-site visits to commercial establishments, multifamily dwellings, and commercial edible food generators.

 

                     On April 29th, Christian and Max from GreenWaste of Tehama presented to (3) three - second grade classrooms at Antelope Elementary. Presentations included education on the landfill and the “4R’s.”

 

                     The Agency attended all four days of the Tehama District Fair from May 1st through May 4th. Agency had a booth with information and interactive games for youth to help them learn how to recycle correctly and understand the importance of composting. Information on proper disposal of used oil, sharps, and HHW was distributed during this time to parents.

 

                     The Agency attended the Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce Wednesday Night Farmers' Market on June 4th and June 18th to promote recycling, proper household hazardous waste disposal, and backyard composting.

 

                     The Agency attended the Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce Saturday Farmers' Market on May 31 and June 21, to promote recycling, proper household hazardous waste disposal, and backyard composting.

 

                     Christian attended the Corning Tuesday Night Market on May 6th, and spoke to the public about used oil recycling, HHW disposal, and composting.

 

                     Paul attended Tehama Outreach's Tehama Pride Festival on June 7 to promote recycling, proper household hazardous waste disposal, and backyard composting.

 

                     Christian tabled at the Emergency Preparedness Fair on June 12th at the Red Bluff Community Center and spoke to the public about safe household hazardous waste disposal and recycling.

 

                     Christian and Max from GreenWaste of Tehama conducted a recycle audit ride along on June 13th. Christian had the opportunity speak with residents and provide recycling tips and feedback on their recycling efforts. Christian and Max will analyze the collected data and continue to improve the program to increase recycling diversion.

 

                     Christian attended Good Morning Red Bluff on June 26th and spoke to businesses about recycling and the Smart Business Alliance.

 

                     The Agency is currently working on promoting the used oil outreach videos that were created last year. Deer Creek Media will help promote videos and educational materials on YouTube, Facebook, and Google ads beginning July 10.
