Background Information:

 

 

•                     The Agency attended the Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce Saturday Farmers' Market on June 6, August 1, and August 8, to promote recycling, proper household hazardous waste disposal, and backyard composting.

•                     The Agency attended Tehama Outreach’s Pride Festival on June 6 to promote recycling, waste reduction, proper household hazardous waste disposal, and backyard composting.

•                     On June 11, The Agency and Green Waste of Tehama conducted a recycle audit ride along. This was the second round of audits in Lake California, County of Tehama. The audits encourage residents to become more mindful of their recycling habits.

•                     The Agency attended the Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce Wednesday Night Farmers' Market on June 17, July 8, and July 15 to promote recycling, proper household hazardous waste disposal, and backyard composting. On July 15, the Agency was on Facebook Live for their Spotlight Sponsorship, featuring announcements about upcoming events, information about our booth, and general TCSWMA and landfill information.

•                     The Agency attended Good Morning, Red Bluff on June 25 and August 27 to engage with local businesses about the Smart Business Alliance program during a community networking event.

•                     The Agency attended "Corning in the Morning" on July 9 to engage with local businesses about recycling opportunities and promoted the Smart Business Alliance program during a community networking event.

•                     The Agency presented "R is for Recycling" at the Summer Reading Program at Tehama County Libraries July 21 in Los Molinos, July 22 in Red Bluff, July 23 in Corning. They used this time to teach youth about recycling and help them create their own recycling visuals to use at home. The Agency collaborated with Green Waste at the Red Bluff event and WM at the Corning event.

•                     The Agency attended the Tehama County Library Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 1 to promote solid waste education among local youth.

•                     On August 3 and September 14, the Agency performed a 2-part recycle audit in collaboration with Green Waste of Tehama in the city of Red Bluff. The collaboration engaged residents in improving the diversion of recyclables in their household waste.

•                     The Agency attended the Corning Tuesday Night Market on September 1, and spoke to the public about used oil recycling, HHW disposal, the upcoming tire event, and backyard composting.

•                     On Saturday September 19, The Agency hosted the first tire collection event of the TA8 grant. The Agency collected attendee information and distributed battery bags with Agency’s programs information.

•                     The Agency attended the Manton Apple Festival on October 3 and spoke to the public about composting and gave composting demonstrations.
