Financial Impact:
Funding for this SolutionsWest contract is anticipated in the FY 26/27 budget. Our Medi-Cal allocation is sufficient to fully fund this contract because of continued short staffing of Eligibility Specialists. Account 5013-53230 will be able to pay this cost. There is no County share of Medi-Cal administration. There is no impact to the General Fund.
Background Information:
This is a contract renewal. Social Services, Eligibility branch originally enlisted the assistance of SolutionsWest in November 2023 and again in the 2025-2026 fiscal year to help process the large volume of Medi-Cal applications and re-certifications that Social Services receives and is required to re-evaluate. Contracting for additional help in processing Medi-Cal applications and re-certifications has proved to be a workable short-term solution for meeting required workloads and timeliness deadlines.
