Background Information:

Dignity Health Connected Living (DHCL) respectfully requests the opportunity to address the Board to honor the dedicated service of our AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers within Tehama County. DHCL sponsors three federal AmeriCorps Senior grants (the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP), and the Senior Companion Program (SCP), effective July 1, 2026) that engage seniors aged 55 and over in vital community services. Our 55 current Tehama County volunteers serve with numerous partnering agencies, including: Gleaners Food Bank, St. Elizabeth Hospital, the Tehama County Sheriff's Department STARS, Corning Senior Center, and Tehama Together. We aim to help the Board understand our programs and the valuable services our volunteers provide, helping to close service gaps in Tehama County.  Please see the attached Program Summaries to better understand the community service provided by our volunteers.
