Financial Impact:

The annual base salary for a full time Civil Engineer at Step D is $95,680.00, a $13,041.60 increase over that of a Step A. The Department has sufficient 2024/2025 fiscal year funding budgeted for appointment at Step D. There will be no impact to the general fund.

 

Background Information:

The candidate’s 6 years as a Professional Engineer and his additional licensure as a surveyor, combined with his relevant public agency experience and skills, exceeds the qualifications for this position and that of an entry level employee.  This candidate was considered the highest-ranking candidate during the application process for this position and has agreed to employment at the negotiated rate within the Tehama County salary scale.  Public Works would like to realize the opportunity to appoint a highly qualified candidate such as this.

 

The Personnel Office has reviewed the candidate’s qualifications and is in agreement with placement at Salary Range 48, Step D upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements.
