Financial Impact:
No additional financial impact will result from extending the expiration date.
Background Information:
On December 15, 2022, the Division of Animal Servies entered into a Grant Agreement with the Regents of the University of California on behalf of its Davis Campus School of Veterinary Medicine and Koret Shelter Medicine Program to purchase needed surgical equipment and supplies as well as fund staffing for spay/neuter surgeries to be performed on the division’s mobile veterinary clinic (van).
On August 29, 2023, the Agreement was amended by Amendment #1 extending the original expiration date from December 14, 2025, to April 14, 2026.
Both parties now wish to extend the Agreement again, but the Agreement expired before a second Amendment could be formally approved by the BOS.
The Division is requesting approval of a Reinstatement and Amendment Agreement that will retroactively restore the Agreement to active status and extend the term through December 31, 2026, with all other terms and conditions remaining unchanged.
