The funds for this position are in the FY 2025-2026 Budget Unit 40131 (Mental Health), and the salary for the position at Range 26, Step B is $25.58/hour. There is no impact to the general fund.
Background Information:
The candidate has nearly six years of experience in institutional and behavioral health settings working in the field of juvenile detention for a nearby County as a Juvenile Counselor and Probation Officer. Their experience providing direct services to youth with the highest needs provides them with skills that are transferable into the Specialty Mental Health System of Care working with both youth and adults.
If the requested action is not approved, the County will lose the opportunity to hire a qualified applicant in this position.
The Personnel Office has reviewed the Other than A Step request and is in agreement with the Range 26, Step B appointment effective upon completion of all pre-employment requirements.
