Financial Impact:
The cost of the contract is budgeted in 5022-55395. The contract will be funded by the County Children’s Trust Fund 498 along with the CBCAP annual allocation. Any amount not covered by Trust 498 and the CBCAP allocation will be a County cost funded by 1991 Realignment revenue; however, lowering the contract amount is intended to avoid use of realignment revenues.
Background Information:
The Council performs the duties of the County Children's Trust Fund Council, per Board of Supervisors Resolution #20-2010. The Council is comprised of volunteer members from local agencies, community-based organizations, and the general community. An autonomously functioning Executive Board leads Council and provides annual reports of its activities to the County Board of Supervisors. High priority activities are co-coordinating local events and fairs designed to promote child abuse and neglect prevention, conduct trainings, and demonstrations by request at schools and other local agencies on a wide array of subjects, such as Shaken Baby Syndrome and mandated reporter training. First 5 Tehama provides administrative support by acting as the fiscal agent for the Council, as well as providing staff support, communications, meeting space, and related administrative services. The term of this contract is January 2023 through June 2025. The first two years were paid at $25,000 each, and the amendment will lower the third year to $20,000.
