a) BID AWARD - Request to award the bid for the Morgue HVAC Upgrade Project to Mikes Heating & Air, Inc. of Anderson, CA as the low responsive bidder in the amount of $181,269 for the base bid

 

b) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Chair to sign the Agreement with Mikes Heating & Air, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $181,269

 

c) Request blanket authorization for the Chief Administrator to execute change orders for the project in an amount up to 10% of the contract price, with all change orders being brought back to the Board for confirmation

Financial Impact:

The anticipated costs for this project are included in the Accumulated Capital Outlay budget, 1081-57515.

 

Background Information:

This project is to upgrade the morgue HVAC system at the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office. This project will provide a new ventilation system for the morgue at the Sheriff’s Office that includes a 100% outdoor air system for makeup air. An existing exhaust system will remain in operation and be rebalanced to achieve pressure relationships. It will also include new room pressure monitoring controls.

 

The Board approved the project to move forward on June 16, 2026, with bids on July 9, 2026. Only one bid was received and is within the expected price range.
