Background Information:
The selected candidate gained valuable law enforcement experience and specialized training with an allied agency, including extensive experience supervising and managing inmates in a variety of correctional settings. Their experience includes supervising inmates during leisure activities, work details, transportation assignments, court appearances, medical appointments, and institutional transfers; conducting facility and grounds checks for sanitation, safety, and contraband; performing inmate searches; maintaining detention facility records; and operating centralized control systems governing access and inmate movement. The candidate is also experienced in receiving and booking inmates, completing classification procedures and housing assignments in accordance with the facility’s classification plan, processing inmate releases, and investigating incidents and rule violations for disciplinary reports and potential citations or arrests.
In addition to their correctional and law enforcement experience, the candidate serves as a volunteer fire department crew member, providing additional experience in emergency response, teamwork, and high-risk situations. The candidate has completed PC 832 Arrest and Control, PC 832 Firearms, Jail Training Officer, Fire Control 1, 2, and 3, and CPR and First Aid training.
