Financial Impact:

This agreement has been budgeted for FY 25/26 in the Sheriff’s Maintenance of Equipment account 2027-53170.

Background Information:

Tehama County has been utilizing the services of Day Wireless Systems since the closure of Valley Industrial two years ago. Day Wireless Systems currently provides critical maintenance and support for the Sheriff's Office radio communications system, including mobile and vehicle radios, the 9-1-1 system, dispatch operations, and radio repeaters. Their services also include periodic evaluations of the radio system to ensure ongoing efficiency and operational safety.

The proposed R56 Site Grounding Remediation is the second component of Phase One of the County’s Emergency Radio Communications Infrastructure Improvements Project. These remediation efforts were identified during an R56 compliance survey conducted by Day Wireless Systems in May 2025.

The necessary grounding remediation will be conducted at three key radio repeater sites: Eagle Point (Rancho Tehama), Inskip Hill, and the Jail/Dispatch Center.

Completion of this work is essential, as installation of the new dispatch console cannot proceed until the identified grounding issues at all three repeater sites are resolved. Timely completion of these repairs is critical to maintaining forward momentum on the Emergency Radio Communications Infrastructure Improvements Project.
