Background Information:
The Tehama Conservation Fund, in partnership with the Resource Conservation District of Tehama County, is seeking grant funding for the Cold Fork Creek Fire Safe Forests Initiative. The project proposes to restore approximately 277 acres of fire-impacted private timberland in the Cold Fork Creek watershed west of Red Bluff, within the footprint of the 2020 August Complex Fire.
The project will focus on reforestation, vegetation management, and habitat restoration to improve forest health, watershed conditions, and long-term wildfire resilience. The proposed letter demonstrates the County's support for these restoration efforts and the project's potential benefits to the surrounding community.
