recommendation

a) Request approval and authorization for the Chairman to sign the Tehama County Community Needs Assessment and Community Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2026/27

body

Financial Impact:

This plan is a condition to receive Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding.

Background Information:

A Community Action Plan (CAP) must be completed every two years within the Tehama County Community Action Agency (TCCAA), or other agencies wanting to obtain Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding. The CAP is to address unmet needs in the community based on data collected in a strategic manner with input from low income individuals and those in the public and private sector.

Services and programs funded by CSBG include emergency food, deposit assistance, LIFT assistance, Meals on Wheels, Thanksgiving meals for rural schools, and Positivity and Love mentoring youth program. CSBG may also contribute funds to administrative costs for the Housing and Disability Program, Housing Support Program, and Family Stabilization Program.
