On 3/19/2026 the Purchasing Department advertised for bid, thirty (30) new KNG M150 mobile radios and thirty new (30) BKR 5000 portable radios including accessories and components. At bid opening on 4/7/2026, the Purchasing Department received five bids. The lowest responsive bidder was Leavitt Communications, LLC.
Tehama County Fire Department has a need for radio communications upgrades and replacement of equipment that is no longer usable or programmable. The upgrades will enhance personnel safety, ensure interoperability, increase efficiency and overcome limitations of older equipment ensuring seamless coordination during emergency incidents.
