Financial Impact:
Costs of services will be paid utilizing Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) dollars allocated for these purposes. Budget Unit is 40131 for Mental Health. There is no impact to the general fund.
Background Information:
This is a renewal agreement for the purpose of providing clients with training and supervision for a consumer workforce temporary work experience. The supervisor will be employed by Northern Valley Catholic Social Service. Work experience helps to promote community employment by training participants in universal job skills such as how to follow directions, arrive at work on time, dressing appropriately for work, calling in when unable to come to work, and professional communication skills. Work placements at the Health Services Agency may include job functions such as catering, office front desk experience, and landscaping. Northern Valley Catholic Social Service has successfully employed, trained, and supervised consumer staff for several Northern California Counties. A consumer workforce can promote and model wellness & recovery as well as show consumers how utilizing County support services can lead to a productive life.
