Financial Impact:

There will be no additional financial impact, these funds were previously allocated by the Board as explained below.

Background Information:

On April 15, 2025, the Board approved a transfer from the General Fund - Strategic Priorities in the amount of $25,000 as a match to Tehama County Major Crimes donation in the same amount. The contribution and donation were used to establish the Enforcement Assistance Fund.

The purpose of the fund is to help fund abatement of dangerous buildings and eliminate visual blight throughout the County. The operation of the fund is with collaborative efforts from Environmental Health, Code Enforcement, Building Department, Sheriff’s Department, District Attorney, and Public Guardian/Public Administrator.

This particular transfer is related to a long-term nuisance abatement cleanup in Gerber. A lien will be placed on the property in order to try and recover these funds when/if the property is ever sold.
