Financial Impact:
The funds were unanticipated and will be incorporated at mid-year into the FY 26/27 Sheriff’s budget as anticipated revenue for the Sheriff’s Office’s Boating Unit (2024-0450620).
Background Information:
The Boating Safety and Enforcement Equipment (BSEE) Grant, administered by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways, provides grant funding to local government agencies for the purchase of boating safety and law enforcement equipment.
BSEE Grant funding will be used to repower the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office 2001 Jet Craft patrol boat and replace the damaged law enforcement emergency lights and siren system. The project will help ensure the patrol boat remains operational and properly equipped to support boating safety, enforcement, and emergency response activities.
