This contract is supported by the CCP and fully funded by AB109 funds, there is no impact on the General Fund. The lease agreement spans nearly three years, and the annual lease cost is approximately $160,000. Utilities for the facility are covered by AB109 funds and are based on client usage.
Background Information:
This initiative aligns with the Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) and the Public Safety Realignment Act (AB109), offering transitional housing that aids in rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. Ensuring a clean and sober lifestyle in a supportive environment is essential for the rehabilitation of substance abusers and offenders. By renewing our lease with the Sportsman's Lodge, Tehama County Probation can continue to provide housing for our offenders and those referred to by the Sheriff's Office, Parole, and other agencies. The Sportsman's Lodge is a safe residence for offenders while they engage in drug and alcohol services, mental health counseling, and court-ordered treatment programs such as the Adult Felon Drug Court and Behavioral Health Court programs. Additionally, offenders are encouraged to seek employment and participate in the existing County work experience programs of auto mechanics, wood working, welding, landscaping, and wildfire suppression.
