Financial Impact:
There will be no financial impact on the General Fund as AB443 funds will be utilized for this purchase. The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) 1222-23 Grant will reimburse the Sheriff’s Office (AB443 fund) for a portion of these funds, once the vehicle is acquired and purchased.
Background Information:
The original quote provided by Downtown Ford reflected a tax rate of 7.25%, which applies to items shipped directly to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office on Antelope Boulevard. However, because the vehicle was registered through the Tehama County Administration Office, the applicable tax rate is 7.5%. As a result, the final invoice reflects the correct tax rate and exceeds the original not-to-exceed amount on the purchase order by $121.47.
We are therefore requesting approval of the amended invoice amount. The discrepancy resulted from a clerical error by the dealership in applying the incorrect tax rate on the original quote.
