Background Information:

Regular Personnel Rules review and revision is a crucial part of an effective policy and procedure management plan. Updating rules to ensure they are consistent, effective, compliant with State and Federal laws, and understood by all parties.

As part of the most recent negotiation cycle, all five Tehama County bargaining units agreed to modify the County’s recognized holidays. Accordingly, this rule has been revised to reflect the changes in the holiday schedule.

Juneteenth (June 19) has been added as a recognized holiday.

César Chávez Day (March 31) has also been added as a recognized holiday.

In exchange for César Chávez Day, Lincoln’s Birthday (February 12) has been removed from the list of recognized holidays.

These updates align with the negotiated agreements and ensure consistency across all bargaining units.
