Financial Impact:
The Construction of the project was funded by the Highway Bridge Program (HBP). This project contract was budgeted from the Road Fund - Professional and Special Services #3011-53230.
Background Information:
The project included replacement of the Kirkwood Road Bridge over Jewett Creek, replacement of the Columbia Avenue Bridge over Jewett Creek, road improvements at the intersection of Columbia Avenue and Loleta Avenue, and associated drainage and roadway work. Work was completed on May 1, 2024. The contract was awarded to Viking Construction Company Inc. in the amount of $6,204,715.00. A contingency of $620,471.50 was budgeted. Eighteen change orders were issued for a total cost of $338,783.47, for a total project cost of $6,543,498.47.
