a) AGREEMENT- Request approval and authorization for the Chairman and Sheriff to sign the Agreement with Obsidian IT for the provision of technology support services for a monthly flat fee of $15,155.81, with maximum compensation not to exceed $181,869.72 additionally the County shall pay a maximum of $10,000 for computer services specifically requested that are not covered under Exhibit “B” at the hourly rate of $142.25 per hr., the maximum annual compensation payable under this agreement is $191,869.72, effective 7/1/25 and shall terminate 6/30/26

Financial Impact:
The budget appropriation will be included in the Requested Recommended Budget for FY 25-26 in the Sheriff’s Maintenance of Equipment Budget 2027-53170.
Background Information:
The Sheriff’s Office requires technological support to maintain its information technology infrastructure. Obsidian IT (formerly West Coast Technologies) has been supporting the Sheriff’s Office since April 2014. Obsidian IT provides technological support services for all workstations, servers, and networking devices under the responsibility of the Sheriff’s Office. The monthly flat fee includes essential security tools, flexITplan, Microsoft M365 and Obsidian Offsite Backup.
The flexITplan is the tailer managed service plan Obsidian created to meet the technological needs of the Sheriff’s Office. The flexIT service plan includes a fixed onsite and remote 80 hours per month for management and support of IT network-based services, applications, and equipment under the responsibility of the Sheriff’s Office. Obsidian also provides ongoing monitoring and security services of all critical devices with monthly reports as part of the flexITplan.
