Financial Impact:
Because the funds for the fiscal year in which the warrant was originally issued have already been recognized as revenue in the General Fund, reissuing the warrant would result in a financial impact of $298.57.
Background Information:
The warrant was processed and never cashed. The original warrant was found when the family was looking through boxes. The effect of not taking the requested action would result in the Joint Trust not receiving the funds due to them.
Per GC 29802 (c):
If, at any time after a period of two years from the date on which the original warrant became void, or during such other period of time as specified by ordinance, the payee or assignee presents such warrant to the governing body of the agency on which the warrant was drawn, the governing body may adopt an order instructing the County Auditor to draw a new warrant in favor of the payee or assignee in the same amount as the original warrant.
