recommendation

a) AGREEMENT - Request approval and authorization for the Air Pollution Control Officer to sign a Carl Moyer Low-Emission Equipment Incentive Program Agreement with Tehama County Department of Agriculture in the amount of $56,730, effective upon execution by both parties and terminating three years from the date of installation

body

Financial Impact:

Carl Moyer funding and associated agreements are budgeted annually by the District.

Background Information:

The Carl Moyer Memorial Air Quality Standards Attainment Program (Carl Moyer Program) has been highly successful for many years in reducing air pollution in Tehama County. In 2020, the Department of Agriculture successfully acquired an EV ARC transportable, solar-powered electric vehicle charging station, which has been available for public use to increase the community’s access to charging infrastructure.

Now, under the proposed agreement with the District, the Department of Agriculture has the opportunity to install an additional solar-powered EV charging station. This project will be partially funded by Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Moyer State Reserve Project funds, which are limited to battery charging and hydrogen fueling stations. By offsetting the cost of zero-emission vehicle infrastructure within Tehama County, this grant will help provide greater access to charging options for the local community.
