Financial Impact:
Funding for this position has been allocated in the FY 2024-25 adopted budget in account 6021-51010, Salaries and Wages to appoint at Step D.
Background Information:
The candidate has library volunteer experience and has completed LETRS (an intensive two-year literacy training based on the science of reading). It is anticipated that this candidate will require little training in Library Clerk I duties, and their literacy training will be immediately beneficial in the library’s goal of restoring literacy programming for all age of patrons.
Please note that the Library Clerk I’s salary range, which is Range 8 of the Joint Council Bargaining Unit Memorandum of Understanding, is below California’s minimum wage at Steps A and B.
The Personnel Office has reviewed the candidate’s qualifications and agrees with placement at Salary Range 8, Step D upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements.
