Financial Impact:
The funding source for the Agreement has been budgeted for FY 25/26 in the Jail Health Budget 20321-532394 and Coroners Budget 2072-53230.
Background Information:
The Sheriff’s Office is requesting approval to increase the maximum compensation amount for its existing Agreement for radiology services supporting the Tehama County Jail and the Tehama County Sheriff Coroner’s Unit.
This Agreement provides essential diagnostic imaging services, including but not limited to X-rays and related radiological evaluations for incarcerated individuals and for decedent examinations conducted by the Coroner’s Office. These services are critical to ensuring appropriate medical care within the jail, supporting cause-of-death investigations, and maintaining compliance with applicable legal and regulatory standards.
Due to increased service utilization and the need to ensure continuity of care and investigative support, the current not-to-exceed amount is no longer sufficient to cover anticipated expenditures throughout the remainder of the Agreement term. Increasing the maximum compensation will allow uninterrupted access to necessary radiology services and prevent delays in medical treatment or coroner investigations.
