body

Financial Impact:

This request requires a one-time appropriation of $27,153.44 from the General Fund Contingency budget to fund the specific operational needs detailed below. There is no additional impact on departmental operating budgets.

Background Information:

Approval is requested to transfer $27,153.44 from the General Fund Contingency budget to fund two critical, time-sensitive facility repairs managed by the Facilities Maintenance Department:

District Attorney’s Office HVAC Replacement ($17,405.00): This project will replace a failed, obsolete AC unit and its associated ductwork. The current system has been completely non-functional for three weeks. With extreme summer heat approaching, replacing this unit is a critical occupational health and safety necessity for staff at this location.

Administration Building Backflow Preventer Replacement ($9,748.44): This project replaces a failed backflow prevention assembly at the Administration building. This repair is an urgent safety and operational priority; the failure directly compromises the building’s fire sprinkler system and carries the immediate risk of the city shutting off water service to the facility due to regulatory non-compliance.
