Financial Impact:
There will be no financial impact to the General Fund as costs will be paid using CalAIM PATH funds already allocated to these services.
Background Information:
This partnership between Tehama County Probation and Tehama County Department of Education (DOE) is being established to comply with requirements of the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) Justice Involved Initiative (JII) aimed at delivering whole-person, integrated care that connects physical, mental and behavioral health services for justice involved youth. As a result, DHCS is required to develop and implement a mandatory process for county juvenile facilities to coordinate with Medi-Cal managed care and behavioral health delivery systems for continued treatment. The MOU with DOE will comply with this requirement through dedicated behavioral health staff to provide all behavioral health, suicide and substance abuse screenings, assessments and treatment services.
