The potential award amount is unknown for this Grant Application. If awarded another item will be brought forward to accept and provide the amount awarded to Tehama County.
Background Information:
California State Library (CSL) expanded their California Library Literacy Services (CLLS) grant program to allow new applications, where previously only libraries with an existing CLLS grant were allowed to apply for the next year’s funding. Due to time constraints this application has already been submitted for FY 26-27. CLLS provides training to library staff to develop and support a volunteer tutor program to work one-on-one and in small groups with learners. Funds may be used on salaries and benefits, Live Scans for volunteer tutors, and materials to support literacy education. If selected, the first year must be development of an adult literacy program. Subsequent years may include a family literacy program. No match is required in the first year. Subsequent years require a match relative to the award amount.
